Approximately 70 thousand people attended Gökbel concerts and broke the historical record.
Gökbel Oil Wrestling, which was included in the “Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory” by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Research and Education in 2021, started with the participation of thousands of citizens. The festival area, where dozens of different events from offroad to amusement parks were held, was flooded with visitors throughout the day. Hosting approximately 70,000 people on its first day, Gökbel Yağlı Pehlivan Wrestling also gave the participants an unforgettable opening night with Ayşe Dinçer and Sibel Can concerts.
HIGH ATTENTION TO GÖKBEL FESTIVAL
Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel, Council Members, headmen, Political Party and NGO representatives, Alanya protocol and tens of thousands of citizens attended the opening organization of Traditional Gökbel Plateau Oil Wrestling Wrestling. Gökbel Wrestling Festival, which we started in the first year of my Presidency of Kestel, has grown exponentially every year with your support and has come to these days. Gökbel Wrestling, which is included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List Turkey National Inventory, is a brand and a value of Alanya and Turkey.

President Yücel said, “It is very valuable for us to keep our Gökbel Oil wrestling alive and to carry it to the next generations,” and said, “We are making every effort in this regard. I believe that the Gökbel Wrestling, where the bravery and nobility of the Turks are displayed and the most important wrestlers of Turkey are tied, will continue for hundreds of years with its aghas, wrestlers, beautiful events, golden belt, audience, jazz and drummer. Tomorrow at Gökbel Er Square, more than fifty wrestlers and nearly a thousand wrestlers will tie their arms, especially our wrestler Yusuf Can Zeybek from Antalya, this year’s golden arched wrestler of historical Kırkpınar. We will watch the fierce struggle of Turkey’s best wrestlers together,” he said.

WE DID WHAT NO MUNICIPAL CAN DO IN EDUCATION
In education, we did what no municipality could do. We opened Oba Girls’ Dormitory, Fahri Gürses Study Center, Martyr Aybüke Teacher Study Center in Payallar, Rüya İpekten and Saadet Çelik Children’s Academy and Nursery in Oba. The construction of Mahmutlar Hanife Cebeci Nursery and Day Care Center and Mahmutlar Study Center are continuing rapidly. We will try to train it for the next education period. We built 3 schools from scratch, namely Sultan Alparslan Anatolian High School in Kestel, Multi-Program Anatolian High School in Payallar, 100. Yıl Secondary School and Kindergarten in Avsallar, and offered them to our students.
